Heather's Fury (6) The Party's Over

HEATHER'S FURY (6)

The Party's Over

Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Detail-9 a.m.

Detective Pam Martin has decided that they have enough of a case to bring to the District Attorney for arrest warrants to be issued. Trish Townsend with the D.A.'s office has just approved the actions requested.

Detective Martin

"I've looked at all this stuff on the Patrick's case...it's time to bring everybody in and see who crows the best, the most, and the loudest!"

Detective Peter Barns

So, you let them stew enough in their own crap long enough huh?"

Martin

"Yea, Trish just sent down the subpoenas, all signed, sealed, and delivered...as long as we have the blessings of the D.A., the sooner we can close this thing and move on to newer waters!"

Barns

"You know, I'll have to hand it to you...the City Attorney was right?"

Martin

"You mean Kathy, yea...she's such a sweetheart, budgeted a lot of my youth programs without so much having do the usual third degree strip tease with the city council...I swear, they just don't get progress...sitting there just writing checks for their own districts...it's amazing anything gets done!"

Barns

"This should be pretty straight forward from here, we have three juveniles, maybe cut a deal?"

Martin

"That's assuming we can corral them into the barn without a bunch of mayhem...these kids these days get all emotional when they realize it's not a video game you can just turn off...but then, if they want to go kicking and screaming...suit themselves...probably think they're not even being considered...like people who bully...don't have a clue what they're doing to someone who doesn't fit in..."

Barns

"Where does that come from...I mean the feeling no compassion thing, no remorse, and that's assuming they even remember doing the crime to start with?"

Martin

"Television, parents who spoil them with just letting them find their own feelings about morality...without someone to guide them in the wheelhouse...they get off the channel of growing up, get off course, and then the sharks get 'em...conditioning is so important, especially during puberty."

Barns

"If we had all the answers..."

Martin

"Yea, I know...I would have already had Doctor Phil's Love Child by now...he'd never let us go a week without doing an update on juveniles...where'd they go wrong!"

Barns

"We could call it Juveniles Exposed, almost like our own daily blog of tidbits!"

Martin

"For a detective with as many cases as you have back logged, you sure seem to have a lot of time for grandiose fantasies and ego boosting!"

Barns

"It keeps me away from the bottle, and to not look at women half my age..."

Martin

"Fair enough, now who should be drag in first?"

Katy's Apartment-Living Room-10 a.m.

Aunt Katy and Heather laying on couches just shooting the breeze

Heather

"You know, it's only a matter of time before these boys will have to come forth...be tested you know...I mean I know one guy who will not only test positive, but will be found guilty, too!"

Katy

"Look girl...just let the cops be cops, let them do their thing...do their job...hell it'll all come out in the wash...so to speak...ahem, would you like some more pot roast?"

Heather

"Sure, maybe a little bit on some rye, oh and that pepper mustard stuff is the bomb Aunt Kate...you do miracles with that crock pot...crock pot magician you!"

Katy

"Yea, it does kind of amaze me how I can throw all that stuff in there in the morning, and when I get home...there's all this 5 star meal waiting...but actually, that was one of your Grandmother's recipes...she originated most of what we've been eating...your Mom and me were constantly competing in the kitchen...boy, I sure miss her!"

Heather

"Well, what has happened has happened, what is done is done!"

Katy

"What do you mean by that?"

Heather

"It just did...nothing to worry about...all neatly swept under the carpet..."

Katy

"So, let me throw one out there for kicks...you did have something to do with what happened to Bob...gees Heather...I should have figured!"

Heather

"Figured what, I didn't say anything!"

Katy

"You just implicated yourself...in so many words young lady...for Christ sake, elaborate girl?"

Heather

"Well, I don't even no what your talking about, so quit putting words in my mouth..."

Katy

"I've got a better idea...just never mind, just watch what you say, no snide remarks, cause the less I know about what ever it is you apparently didn't do or have any knowledge of, is starting to stress me out...so DBIU...don't bring it up...understand?"

Heather

"Wonder what's on tv?"

Troy Abram's House (Patrick's Lawn Boy)-2p.m.

Troy trimming some shrubs in front of his house. Spots Lakeland Police car pulling up into his driveway. Officer gets out.

Officer

"Afternoon, ah looking for a Troy Abrams...would you be him?"

Troy taking deep swallow

"Yea, yea, that's him...I mean, I mean me, that's him alright...what can I help you with, sir?"

Officer

"Well sir, unfortunately I have a warrant here for your arrest concerning the murder of Bob Patricks!"

Troy

"For what...hey don't look at me...I didn't have anything to do with it!"

Officer

"Well, according to the D.A.'s office they have evidence showing yoy fingerprints all over the place...so let's keep this simple...we take a ride down to the police station, talk with the detectives and then it will be up to you as to how you wish to handle this...fair enough?"

Troy

"Is it okay to tell my Mommy where I'm going...I guess I should let her know I probably won't be home for dinner?"

Officer

"Your Mommy...oh God, well yes Troy, I think that would be an "Excellent" idea...this is after all just a booking to get you in the system...the judge will decide if there will be a bail hearing."

Troy

"Are the girls coming?"

Officer

"I can't talk about their particulars, but I would imagine so...just concern yourself about you right now, sound like a plan?"

Troy

"Can you just like, go away and pretend like you couldn't find me?"

Officer laughing

"No Troy, now would you put your hands behind your back...eh nothing sharp or poking in those pockets there huh?"

Troy

"So, be honest...this is like real trouble huh?"

Officer going through Troy's pockets

"Yes, about as bad as it get's...but the charges could change with the circumstances, like I said...it's all up to you whether you want to make this easy or difficult, all up to you...hey, why are you so wet down here boy?"

Troy

"Sorry about that, I just wet myself!"

Officer

"Well, somehow that doesn't surprise me, better let your Mommy know before we leave, get you a change of drawers, I really don't want you sitting in my car like that!"

Troy

"It's just that I got so excited and I..."

Officer

"Well you kids today, you all seem so excited when you realize that maybe hurting or causing harm has it's ramifications."

Troy

"Does this mean they'll send me to prison, like will I turn gay and all that?"

Officer

"If you play your cards right, and with that kind of attitude, you can expect just about anything to happen...I would suggest to just stay open minded on the issue!"

Troy running toward house in handcuffs

"Mommy, Mommy, I need to talk to you...are you in the kitchen...help me Mommy, help me!"

Officer shaking his head

"Kids these day...a 17 year old child, what's next?"

Taking One On For Heather

Int: Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Division-Next Day

Detective Marks to Detective Martin

"We've got a break in the Patrick case, patrol spotted gray Mustang over on Milton Avenue...matches the tags to the one Mister Patrick was driving."

Martin

"Well, that's great news, like to start the day with something positive, shouldn't be long till we hook up with Mister Patrick himself."

Marks

"That's the problem, we already did...found Mister Patrick deceased behind the steering wheel, looks to be major head trauma, like a head gash with a sharp object, Coroner's going over specifics now!"

Martin

Oh God, I don't like the way this is showing, too many unanswered questions...another hard case to finalize, just our luck..."

Marks

Yea, the dead never talk...just leave behind clues...assuming we can find them?"

Martin

Yea, like to questions we can only surmise...traditionally it will all take care of itself assuming someone comes forth, see anything like that happening?"

Marks

"For some reason, I'm thinking business associate or someone he worked around?"

Martin

"No, and we know the wife didn't do it...until the Coroner finds whatever he's going to find, we just sit...just sit this one out!"

Marks

"I'm all in with that!"

(Scene Switch)

Ext: Lakeland High School-Courtyard-12 noon

Heather and Marcia standing with gang of friends at outside lunch area.

Marcia

"You heard...they found you know who this morning, heard it on the radio?"

Heather

"Wow, that was quick, wonder what the next move's now?"

Marcia

"Doubt they're just going to close the case and walk away...probably focus on one of his Honey's...wonder if some lone bitty took things into her own hands?"

Troy passes showing a peace sign

"Hey, you still owe me $10 bucks for the yard, business is business?"

Marcia

"Don't forget the rim salt!"

Troy

"I get it, but I don't...sounds kinda kinked out...but I'm game?"

Marcia

"Oh, I'm sure you are...we'll see what pops up?"

Heather

"All right, that's enough..."I'll take care of your ten, but let's not hang out for a while, get me?"

Troy

"Totally understand...gotta go anyway...be good!"

Troy walking off.

Marcia

"Crap, gotta go to Fruit Loops class, and she's way over on the other side in the portables!"

Heather

"Still can't get why your taking French, nobody uses it?"

Marcia

"To know the difference between saying I'd like dressing on my salad
or you between my legs...us international types must be prepared...this concludes with a much needed venture to Paris this spring...can't wait!"

Heather

"Lucky you, you surprise me when I least expect it!"

Marcia

"Entre mes jambes...you be good girl!"

Heather

"Hey, what did you say?"

Heather looking down in her purse, realizes that she still had Marcia's cell phone.
Tries to catch up, going through the maze of students going back and forth.

Suddenly all the class room doors lock in portables as she arrives, since she didn't have any classes that period, she decides to take a short cut over behind the portables to the library across the football practice field.

Suddenly she hears muffled screams, dust rising up from between portables.
As she walks up she see's Marcia pinned down on the ground by several football players.
She recognizes Jamie forcing himself on her held down body.

Jamie's voice

"Hey girl, take this for Heather...you remember this now...of course you will!"

A player turns, seeing Heather.
As Heather starts to react, player cold cocks her in the head, Heather blacks out!

(4 Hours Later)

Lakeland Hospital-Intensive Care-Shared Room

Marcia coming awake from unconsciousness.
Looking over to her right she see's Heather, head heavily bandaged up, with equipment hooked up to her. Feeling her own head which she finds also bandaged.

Doctor Bain walks into room with a clip board and a nurse.

Doctor Bain

"Well, hello my Dear, how are we doing, saw you moving about on the monitor...thought we'd see how your doing?"

Marcia

"Well, I hurt every place above my feet...does that sound right...what the hell happened?"

Doctor Bain

"We're not completely sure, but it looks like your Libia was torn, you experienced a major brain concussion, some scratches!"

Marcia

"What do you mean torn?"

Doctor Bain

"Looks like you were forceably raped, and during the process you appear to have been punched in the head several times...your a lucky girl, could have killed you!"

Marcia

"What about Heather, what happened to her?"

Doctor Bain

"Major concussion, fractured skull...might be a while till she comes around...severe bleeding of the brain..."

Marcia

"Who did this...I don't remember anything?"

Doctor Bain

"Well, that's perfectly normal in a situation like this...but don't worry, your thoughts will slowly come back to you, this all takes time!"

(3 Hours Later)

Heather finally starts moving around and coming to.
Trying to scratch banded head.

Heather

"Where did all these Hornets come from...get away, whoa...get out of here!"

Marcia

"What Hornets?"

Heather

"The one's flying around my head!"

"Probably, pieces of your brain coming loose, at least what's left of it...you got clobbered pretty good...how ya feeling?"

Heather

"I can't...can't remember what I'm suppose to feel like?"

Marcia

"Try to remember...your name is Heather...let's start with something simple!"

Heather looking at her arm bracelet

"Oh yea, now everything hurts, what in the world happened?"

Marcia

"I don't know, Doc said my hole is torn up, somebody got me good!"

Heather

"I remember a bunch of guys, you, and a lot of dust...but that's it?"

Marcia

"Doc said we should be getting back to remembering soon...so just be cool with it, okay?"

Heather

"Boy, ain't we some screwed up bitches...hey by the way, what was the Doctor's name?"

Marcia

"Funny thing...I can't seem to remember that...but he does have a name?"

Heather

"Names are good...super hard to get noticed without one!"

Marcia

"He's got one, but I don't have any idea...got to think man!"

Heather

"Wonder if my Mom knows where I'm at?

(Scene Switch)

(2 Weeks Later)

Marcia waiting on corner for Heather to pick her up for school.

Car load of boys pass by honking horn, she suddenly gets a flashback as she see's the football player's faces.

Heather pulls up

"Sorry I'm late...had my car keys, but I couldn't remember where I parked my car?"

Marcia

"Funniest thing, but part of the football team came by honking their horn, and like...everything just sort of snapped in...I think I was attacked by the football team...it was them!"

Heather

"Just like that, the whole football team?"

Marcia

"No, not the whole...members of it...so like Doctor Bain took some scrapings and I guess we'll see what happens with the DNA thing...I mean, it's a start!"

Heather

"Ou, scrapings?"

Marcia

"Well, semen samples, guess they dry up on the inside, so if they can get a good sample...we'll see!"

Heather

"Good luck with all of that...you need to be real sure before you start doing any finger pointing...could ruin somebody's life with that stuff!"

Heather pulling into school parking lot.
Girls get out of car walk over to group before home room.

Ted walks up to Heather

"How you feeling girl, glad to see you back in the game!"

Heather

"Yea, it's been a process, but with each day..."

Ted

"I know...step by step!"

Jamie walks up to Heather

"When do you think you can return to the squad?"

"Heather getting sudden flashback, blurts out

"Your him!"

Jamie

"Who's him?"

Heather

"That voice...I remember that voice from the attack!"

Jamie laughing

"Don't look at me, I dunno what your talking about?"

Ted questions

"Are you sure Heather, cause that's a pretty serious allegation?"

Heather

"Hey Jamie...remember this one...this one's for Heather, say that for me?"

Jamie

"I'm not saying crap, mind your own business...why's she even thinking that?"

Ted

"Cause it is our business, why would she just think that...like out of the blue?"

Jamie

"All that headbanging got her all messed up, nobody did anything...just leave me alone..."

Jamie walking off

Home room bell rings

Heather

"Marcia, what are you thinking...you just see that?"

Marcia looking down

"Probably the same things you are...you got to watch what you say...I've already been hurt enough...try to be cool understand?"

Heather

"Yea, but...okay I get it...see you later!"

(Scene Switch)

Lakeland Hospital-Doctor Bain's Office

Tom Hatfield (DNA Supervisor) to Doctor Bain on phone

"Yes Richard we got the preliminaries on the Cody girl, ah Marcia Cody...she suffered major tearing of the vaginal wall and damage to the cervix...ah I found two different semen samples, we're ready for comparison...are you ready to approach the D.A. with a summary?"

Doctor Bain

"Yea, my findings are already in the submission, we just wait like usual and see who she calls in...all the usual...thanks Tom, bye!"

Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Division

Detective Pam Martin

"Why do I always get this feeling that I'm babysitting this department...I wasn't even two steps in and your already having me manage the place...okay, let's see the report for Bob Patrick...are we getting anywhere?"

Detective Marks

"Kind of disturbing, but nothing you can't handle...with all the foot traffic they found over at the Patrick house...looked like a frat party...took the boys forever to separate everything!"

Martin

"Well, we started off with matching tire prints, nothing surprised me there!"

Marks

"This all looks so precalculated, but why was everything so sloppy?"

Martin

"Probably because it wasn't, like somebody surprised somebody...do you have to wait for someone to burp?"

Marks

"I'll figure this out...it's still too early...need another cup of coffee!"

(Scene Switch)

Int: Aunt Kate's Apartment

Heather finally get's back and Aunt Kate is trying to sort through things.

Heather

"Aunt Kate, why haven't the police done anything about this Jamie guy...I mean, he's the dude?"

Aunt Kate

"I don't have a clue, maybe they have some other things in the background, maybe you should give that detective girl a call, see what's up?"

Heather

"I can do that!"

Heather calling Detective Martin's private line.

Heather

"Hello, this is Heather Patrick, how are you Detective Martin?"

Martin

"Fine Miss Patrick, what can I help you with?"

Heather

"Well, I was kind of wondering about the case of the football players...like for any evidence, DNA, you know sperm samples and stuff...are you working on Marcia's situation, did you find anything?"

Martin

"Yes, of course...we have found things, but the report is not finalized and is not ready to be released...so we can't contend a case until everything has been brought forth!"

Heather

"So, this takes a lot of time, doesn't it?"

Martin

"Yes it does, but just be patient, we'll contact you when we're ready for additional testimony...okay Miss Patrick?"

Heather

"Okay, it's just that we were getting restless and we really wanted to know what was going on?"

Martin

"I understand Miss Patrick...anything else?"

Heather

"No, thank you...good bye!"

Hanging up phone.

Aunt Kate

"Any news?"

Heather

"Said they were still trying to put a case together...she said she'd contact me if they needed any more info...boy, this is taking longer than I thought!"

Aunt Kate

"Always does, just wanna be for sure before they start pointing fingers..."

(Scene Switch)

(Three Hours Later)

Int: Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Division

Agent Thomas (CSI Investigator) to Martin on phone

"Afternoon Miss Martin, this is Thomas!"

Detective Martin

"Afternoon, what have you got...I'm assuming this is about the Patrick case?"

Thomas

"Yes Mam, we concluded with four separate sets of tracks...coming into one window, looks like they were using it as a source of entrance, cause the only tracks we could find exiting were of a woman's size 9, looks like a style shoe...perhaps a Candies mule, but we're still checking...in any case the back sliding door was locked, but showed multiple traffic, so whoever came out the window went back to lock it up...hallway had blood splatter marks all over the place, which matched Mister Patrick's type, and we also located a broken open box of Rim Salt in the hallway, too!"

Martin

"Rim Salt...what is that?"

Thomas

"Just a finely ground salt use'd in bar tending...for making Margaritas and stuff!"

Martin

"Okay, well...what a mess we have here, anything else?"

Thomas

"Yea, there was a blood stained martini cart found over by the exiting fence, once again...consistent with Mister Patrick's blood type...kind of a mystery as to how he ended up behind the wheel of his car which of course was found crashed into his office that he no longer rented...it looks too much to have been planted...have to leave that up to you!"

Martin

"Yea, this is all looking so deliberate anyway...like each passing moment here...another shoe drops, you know?"

Thomas

"Oh yea, by the way...the source of entry...is was that girl's room they entered into...the Heather girl...had her pictures all over the wall, cheer leading gear...no mistake about that!

Martin

"There you go, just what I figured...thank you Mister Thomas...thank you very much!"

Marcia

"What about your Father, cops ever find him?"

Heather

Melinda

"Well, what's the use of having best friends if you can't call in a favor once in a while...I mean that crazy bitch woman be taking all that advantage of you, getting you all stressed out...waste of a perfectly good man..."

Both laughing

Bob

"Look, I've got some bonds and stuff in my safe back at the house, need to sneak in there and get them, cash them out so we'll have some money!"

Melinda

"You sure it's a good idea to go prancing around there..the police are looking for you?"

Bob

"Don't have much choice, we got to keep the lights on and I'm down to only a couple of hundred...ain't gonna last long like this!"

Melinda

Heather

"I have an errand I need to run...need to run by the house and pick up some clothes..."

Marcia

"Thought you weren't suppose to be going over there, you don't need to be getting into trouble?"

Heather

"No trouble...plus I think Troy's coming by to mow the yard (making growling sound), I'd do him in a heartbeat man!"

Marcia

"Yea, he is pretty hot...I don't know what his deal is, what he's into...anyway, nothing wrong with watching him sweat for us!"

Heather

"Maybe raid the bar and just enjoy the show!"

Marcia

"Sounds like a plan to me..."

(30 minutes later)

Heather and Marcia have just pulled up, seeing front of house covered in yellow police tape and evidence seals.

Heather

"Look at all this crap, makes this house look like a train wreck!"

Marcia

"How are we going to get in?"

Heather

"Just like I always did...pop off the sliding window to my room and waltz right in...that's how I use'd to get Danny in were we were dating..."

Parking her car down the street, both girls walk back up street going to side of the house where Heather's bedroom window is. Heather expertly opens the window, within seconds both girls climb into her bedroom.

Marcia

"This is spooky stuff here!"

Heather

"Well Mom is around here somewhere watching over us...in her spirit world...hey Mom...can you hear me...just your only daughter Heather, coming to say hello...anybody home?"

Marcia

"Okay, I believe you, your giving me the weebie-jeebies, just get your clothes and let's scram..."

Heather

"Hell no, we're waiting a few minutes...see if Troy makes a showing...come on, loosen up...time to go raid the bar!"

Heather and Marcia walk out into living room, Heather stopping and doing the sign of the cross where her Mother was found dead.

Heather

"Yep, that's where she was found laying, seems like she's still laying there now!"

(15 minutes later)

Both of the girls raiding the bar, pouring each other shots from a golden rum bottle.

Heather drunk and disoriented, walks over to where her Mom was.

"Here's to you Mom, hope you found all the missing pieces...watch over me, please?"

Troy shows up outside house, looks around, hears music but just ignores it. See's all the yellow tape on door and decides to go in backyard and start mowing there first.

Girls hear noise and open up back window to patio and just stare, lusting at Troy's physique, who already has his shirt off.

Heather

"Wow, this is better than I thought...this guy doesn't waste any time gettin to it does he?"

Marcia

These are great seats, too!"

Melinda's House (Bob's girlfriend/ secretary)-3 p.m.

Bob getting ready to leave.

"Hey girl, you sure you don't want to take a ride with me, maybe pick up some groceries?"

Melinda

"Look, I care about you and everything, but I don't want to be scene anywhere near that place!"

Bob

"Okay, I understand, but it wasn't like I was pulling into the front driveway...I'm just parking down the street and walking up..."

He gives Melinda a hug and goes into garage, starts Mustang, pulls up garage door, and leaves, heading to old house.

(Ten minutes later)

Pulling up, parking down the street, and starts walking up, seeing all the yellow tape on front door. He decides to go into the back yard where he encounters Troy. Troy seeing Bob turns off mower and confronts him.

Troy

"How are you Mister Patricks?"

Bob nervously

"Fine Troy, you've heard about Ms. Patrick I presume?"

Troy

"Yes sir, really sorry to hear about your loss!"

(Scene Switch)

Int: Heather's house

Oblivious to Troy talking to her Dad
Playing "He's So fine" by the Sharelles on the stereo, girl's have went back to bar to mix a few more drinks.

Heather

Hey, let's make up a batch of Margaritas!"

Marcia

"Yea, that's what...Tequila and ice, with some of this rim salt...where do you keep rim salt?"

Heather

"I don't know, doesn't really sound like a Margarita...but it's close enough, I think you throw the salt over your arm and suck a lime..."

Marcia

"Yea, the salt over the shoulder is for good luck..."

Heather

"I just hope we don't pass out, this is some strong brew we got going here!"

(Scene Switch)

Bob hears music coming from inside house.

Bob

"Hey Troy...is anybody in there?"

Troy

"I wouldn't know sir, I just walked up and started mowing...haven't seen anybody, the only thing I wanted to ask, is that Ms Patrick would pay me when I was through."

Bob pulls a $20 dollar bill out of pocket

"Something like this?"

Troy

"More like $30 dollars sir, but I'll consider this an advance."

Bob hands him the bill.

"Stay here, I'll be right back!"

Bob walks over to sliding door, slots closed, door locked. He walks around side of house and see's Heather's window out of the frame and leaning against wall. walks over to it, and steps in. Hears music blaring and girl's laughing.

Coming down hall, he confronts Heather who was heading for the bathroom.

Heather

"Daddy, what are you..."

Bob

"Heather, what are you doing?"

Heather

"I don't think your suppose to be here...like ever!"

Bob

"Well, I didn't think I'd ever see you again, excuse me young lady, but have you been drinking, are you into my bar?"

Heather laughing

"Kind of, we were just celebrating Mom's passing, you had heard...she has no pulse now and the police think you did it?"

Panicking, Bob tries grabbing Heather. As she returns with a cheer leading ball bust to the crotch. He doubles over, reaching out and grabbing her leg pulling her toward him, then grabbing her skirt and ripping it it. She kicks his hand.

Marcia comes around the corner unaware of the commotion.

"Heather, I think I found the rim salt...hey what's going on?"

Dropping box of salt, she grabs lit floor light and bashes into Bob's head with the brass light shade. Live filaments of light bulb electrocuting Bob's exposed brain matter, causing searing and smoke. Heather pulls Bob's lifeless, but vibrating hand from her leg.

Marcia just stand in shock trying to figure out what she just did.
Heather walks down hall and turns down stereo and takes a look out sliding door slots to outside patio, while Troy is busy trying to look in the same spot.

They both scare each other and pop back.
She unlocks the sliding door and offers him in.

Heather

"It's my Dad, he's back, I don't know how he got in here, but there he was in the hallway...all I can say, is whatever just happened in there is not good..."

Troy

"Yea, that Cat just gave me $20 dollar and vanished...what's the deal?

Heather

"Come on in till we can figure this out!"

Troy disagreeing

"I'm not interested in getting into your family crap right now...you guys play too rough."

Heather

"Fine, just fine...don't help then, can't you see I'm a girl in need...at least take a look?"

Troy

"I'm sure your always needy, but your family is..."

Grabbing Troy by the arm, she drags him in.

Heather

"Come on, your a big boy, you can do this!"

Walking over to where Marcia is, very drunk, apologizing to Bob's corpse.

Marcia (very drunk)

"Sorry Mister Patrick, didn't mean to bash your head in like that, sorry about the lamp, too!

Heather

"Snap out of it girl...are you okay?"

Marcia

"I've had better days...your Dad is just ignoring me, can't he see I'm pleading for...for forgiveness?"

Troy walks in

"What in the hell did you do to the old man...you guys don't play around huh?"

Heather

"He's dead, but we think he probably ran into a floor lamp...took him down pretty quick..."

Troy looking at lamp

"Well, for one thing, it's still plugged into the wall...might want to unplug it and stop all that sizzling...doesn't this place have circuit breakers...that's like a freak show man!"

Marcia

"Sounds like bacon..."

Troy unplugging light from wall

"Doesn't look like bacon, that's disgusting!"

Heather

"Well, one thing for sure, we can't call the police...I mean nobody's even suppose to be here.

Troy

"Well, I was suppose to be here to mow the yard."

Heather

"Yea, like outside with nature and the wild animals...I've seen what you do...your not bad!"

Marcia

"I can't believe I dropped that whole box of rim salt..."

Troy

"Rim salt, what was that for...to pour in his open wound?"

Marcia

"No, we were thinking about putting some on your rim...long story!"

Troy

"Well, we can't just stand here looking around...we either pick up this mess or split...personally why don't I leave you three here to figure all this out...I mean two, your Dad can't make up his mind on anything right now...sorry Mister Patrick!"

Heather

"Wait just a second please, I've got an idea..."

(Scene Switch)

Heather walking down the sidewalk, finally locates her Dad's Mustang, runs back into open sliding door

Heather

"Okay, look...we've got to get Dad out of here, we just can't leave him here to rot, he'll stink the place up...it will affect the resale value of the house, we must be efficient here."

Marcia

"I owe you for that floor lamp...I make about $150 at the Burger Doodle, so it might take me a while to pay you all the money...

Troy

"Why can't we just roll him into the back yard and bury him?"

Heather

"Because look, he's a big fat man, he's always full of fast food and booze...it's bad for the grass and the top soil!"

Troy

"I could just mow around him him, they do it all the time at the gold courses...setting cutting heights, creative weed whacking, chemical spraying..."

Marcia

"Would you just stop it...we have a body...a big greasy bloody body...partially smoked, yea...now Heather, what's your big idea here?"

Heather

"Ah, does anybody here know how to drive a stick, cause Daddy's car is a stick?"

Troys hand slowly goes up.

"I do!"

Heather

"Great, I now pronounce you man and car, you may now shift her gears."

(1 Hour Later)

Showing Mustang backed all the way up to the back yard fence gate.
Marcia and Heather balancing Bob over top of martini cart, faced down, hands and legs drooping over on each side.

All three heave-ho Bob into passenger seat.

Troy

"You know, for a man this size...this car is too small for him."

Heather pushing powered seat adjuster switch

"Thank goodness for powered seat adjusters...you could never move something this immense."

Heather putting seat belt around Dad, adjust out the strap.

Marcia

"That ought to hold him?"

Heather

"Yea, safety first..."

Marcia

"I don't know about that, but I can't handle that annoying ding, ding, ding..."

Everybody shaking heads.

Troy

"I need to get back here and pick up my mower..."

Heather

"I'm driving my car, just follow me...we'll leave his car at his old office...I doubt they'll be looking for him over there...at least for a while."

Marcia comes from back of house with empty liquor bottle and busted up floor lamp.

Marcia

"We'll leave the empty bottle in the car and throw this pesky light away at the nearest dumpster..."

Heather coming back from behind the house.

"Well, I locked the back slider, cleaned up the blood, and yes...got my clothes, too!"

Marcia

"Cool, even remembered to get your extra clothes...amazing!"

Heather

"Yes, I know...fashion first!"

(Scene Switch)

Pull back showing Bob slumped over steering wheel, with car intentionally crashed in the house, just enough to cause a major dent, keys left in ignition, booze bottle laying on floor, with numerous pain pills strewn about on floor, airbags deployed.

Heather, Marcia, and Troy taking off from old business in Heather's Camry.

Heather

"Who wants pizza...I'm starving?"

Heather's Fury (3) Closing In

HEATHER'S FURY (3)

Closing In

(Three Hours Later)

Heather comes back from school, finding her Mother laying in the hallway.

Heather

"Mom, Mom...wake up, come on what's wrong with you?"

Seeing the paleness on her cold and clammy skin, she screams, runs to the telephone calling 911

Heather walking over to where her Mom is laying, crying to her

"Who did this to you Mom, please talk to me, oh God no!

(1 Hour Later)

Ambulance leaving, Investigator Daniel Morgan approaches Heather

 Investigator Morgan

"So sorry about your loss, but I'm going to need you to answer some questions...you feeling up to it?"

Heather

"I guess so...I dunno?"

Morgan

"So, when you came home, did you notice anything unusual, out of place?"

Heather

"The door was open and unlocked, otherwise everything seemed to be okay...until I saw her, and then (breaking out)...oh my G O D what happened?"

Morgan getting call on cell phone
Getting off, he confronts Heather again.

"Mam, I hate to ask you this, but would you mind coming down to the station...it would be a better atmosphere, and the crime lab can finish their investigation?"

Heather

"For what...she's dead, are we all gonna sit in a big circle and try to bring her back to life...is that it...some giant Ouigi board where she'll talk about her last moments, what kind of mood she was in, what she would have made for dinner...you know, I really don't have anything to offer at this moment...if that's all right with you?"

Morgan

"That's not really the point, Detective Martin and Detective Barns will be investigating your case...this means that they are requesting your presence for a formal briefing.

Heather

"You mean...if I don't want to come, your going to drag me away in handcuffs, kicking and screaming?"

Morgan

"We'll unfortunately, we have only you to consider as conspirator in this action, at this point...your simple obligation is to be helpful in helping your Mother's situation or explain the situation at hand...it's your choice?"

Heather

"My Mother is dead, expired, off to another adventure far away...I Loved my Mother very much...why would you think that I would have anything to do with this...how could you?"

Morgan

"Well, all we have is that when you came in, your Mother was deceased...that's it!"

Heather

"Where's my Dad, have you tried to contact him?"

Morgan

"What kind of relationship did you have with your Father?"

Heather

"He just broke up with Mom, he's not allowed over here, why don't you call him up and see what's going on...very entertaining waste of human excrement...a complete loser!

Morgan

"Well, we were trying to locate him, but we've had no luck finding his vehicle or him...do you have any idea where he might be...did you and your Father, did you talk a lot?"

Heather

No, hell no...I haven't spoke to him in a while...he's never around, always working on sales and stuff...travels a lot...(starts crying) why would anybody take Mom from me!"

Morgan

"I know this is painful Miss Patrick, but I'm going to need you to come down to the station with me...please...your technically in violation if you don't, understand?"

(Scene Switch)

Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Division

Bringing Heather into office with no handcuffs on, she is seated and introduced to Detective Pam Martin and Detective Peter Barns

Heather throwing tantrum

"Look, you guys drag me in here...I'll tell you the same think I've been telling Morgan the Freak show here, I came home, there she was dead...don't have any clue why, there it is...okay?"

Detective Pam Martin

"Mam, Miss Patrick, I'm Detective Pam Martin, now you need to listen, we are trying to establish a series of events leading up to the incident, some of it may not make any sense right now, but as we get closer into our discovery, everything relevant becomes critical...the least little details could make or break the outcome of this case, understand?"

Heather

"Just because I was there, doesn't make me a suspect...does it?"

Detective Peter Barns

"Hello Miss Patrick, I'm Detective Peter Barns and yes...unfortunately we deal with situations like this all the time, we have to be sure that your mentally confidant to give your side to things, and the more helpful you can be, the easier this will be for everyone...does that sound plausible Miss Patrick?"

Heather huffing

"You guys are so cold, couldn't find anyone else to pick on, let's all just save some time, gang up and hang Heather...that's the answer...look you guy's are just wasting your time, I'm telling you that right now!"

Detective Pam Martin

"And who do you suggest might have a motive as big as yours...as strong...It's not that we don't have compassion, it's just that we work with the obvious, we do it all the time, and yes...we've seen things like this before, so save yourself and try to be helpful if you can!"

Heather

"Find someone else to pick on other than me, I'm getting depressed..."

Detective Barns (coming into room)

"I couldn't find any external points of break-in, didn't appear to be any unusual prints other than some fresh skid marks, but it's still too early for conclusions...the D.A. has already sent down a hold request on Miss Patrick till we gather all the data..."

Martin

"Really...okay, I've already did the preliminaries if your ready to process...seems a little preemptive, but she's all yours if your ready?"

Barns

"We're in the process of locating her next of kin...we are readied to transfer parental rights, temporary custody anyway if she accepts, like to get all this set up and ready to go if she accepts the offer...we can't complete the discovery without some course of action...what have you got Pam?"

"Heather yelling (face in her lap)

"Can't believe you guys are just sitting here, just taking turns, trying to ruin me, waiting...hoping that I have a mental breakdown...you know I watch TV, I've seen these scenarios...I know that you already have plans to have me committed here...put me away In Bellevue or Attica somewhere...somewhere where I can rot the rest of my life away...right...well I'm on to both of you'all, I see through all your holes!"

Barns

"Well Miss Patrick, based on real cases, you should know, that you'd do well just to come clean and tell us what's really going on...it would save everybody a lot of time, or do you even believe what really happened, was this some precursor, a foresight to an event that finally played itself out?"

Heather

"Never considered anything, cause I never intended to do anything...just never did nothing...your trying to make me into a culprit, the little evil bad girl, this whole issue is to try to convince the jury that deep down I 'm this dirty little witch...all planned out and executed...huh?"

Barns and Martin both shaking their heads.

Martin

"Well, Miss Patrick, unfortunately until we have some more information, I'm afraid we're going to have to put a hold on you till...Peter, who has her bond hearing?"

Barns

"Looks like we just located Patrick's Aunt...she does outside sales or something, she's coming in, just confirmed!"

Heather (hands over face)

"Just lie down Heather please...that's what your all saying...just lie down on my tummy while you take turns sticking your nasty things into my tailbone...just go on head, turn me into your personal slut...right...your not fooling anyone?"

Martin

"Miss Patrick...Heather, honey it's not necessary to be prude, crude, or whatever else your thinking...look, if we had something, someone else to work into this case...it's early so settle down and think before your mind starts wandering all over the place...you are only becoming your worst enemy...we actually are trying to help...we're doing whats best for you and the memory of your Mother, okay?"

Heather crying

"I don't know where to go with, I just came home and she was dead, can't tell how, can't tell why, just so messed up...the only one I could think of that might have done this was Daddy...but he couldn't have...he has a restraining order!"

Martin flagging Barns

"Check those tire tracks, see if we get anything on what the old man is driving, too!"

Barns

"Get anything, we don't even have a location on this guy...some expired summary but I don't think it's valid...he's apparently a salesman, wholesale bedding...he travels a lot, too...was last in possession of a Gray Mustang GT, Florida tags...extended lease package..."

Martin

"Possession?"

Marks

"Yea, according to his print out, he's behind on his payments, the lease company has already called it in for default!"

Martin

"So I guess we can assume he's not doing too well?"

Marks

"Well...if he is having financial trouble, behind on his alimony, child support, who knows...that's our tag...let's get him in here...after Pam briefs this Aunt, let's go on head and release Heather into her custody...and just wait for Mister Patrick to show his face...gotta be around here somewhere...I can just feel it in my bones...oh yea!"

Martin laughing

"You're starting to show signs that you've been doing this too long...your assumptions start becoming prophecy...time for a vacation...in any case I've got this other case on Espinoza with the missing boyfriend and the missing personality..."

Marks

Let me guess...pretty explanatory huh?"

Martin

Meaning what?"

Marks

"The moment she lost her boyfriend...there went the personality!"

Both laughing

(Scene Switch)

Lakeland Police Department-Waiting area-Front Lobby

Heather waits in lobby as her Aunt Kate finally signs all the paperwork and comes out to greet her, they embrace.

Heather

"Aunt Kate, oh God...I'm so sorry about Mom!"

Aunt Kate

"I know dear, she was my best friend, too!"

Going out to car in each other's arms.

Heather

"Those butt holes thought I did it, they wouldn't stop...wouldn't let me eat, drink, pee...thought I was losing my mind in there...like any moment I was just gonna EXPLODE!"

Aunt Kate

"Well, from what I'm sensing...your Father is taking the rap, cause nobody has seen him, and that ding bat honey he's been hanging around actually called me this morning wanting to know if I had seen him, you believe that crap...how in the hell did she get my number?"

Heather (holding nose)

"Probably one of them girls that always carries rubbers in their pocket...I see them at school all the time, doing little nasty stuff for spare change...all kind of sick ass stuff!"

Aunt Kate laughing

""Well, as we get older, we then turn into Gold Diggers...and trust me, we want more than just spare change!"

Heather

"So, they still carry rubbers, right?"

Aunt Kate

"At that point, condoms are probably little more than an after thought, girls who are into that kind of action are looking for an unplanned pregnancy...good as real estate..."

Heather

"Really, for real, that is so twisted...like a baby...a baby is not like a car, like here's your title, thank you very much, or like a dog you pick up at the kennel...where's your papers...do we need to spay or neuter...like they need to develop some mandatory test screening to qualify anybody bonking or thinking about getting hitched...see if they got any brains going on!"

Aunt Kate

"Like they do on game shows?"

Heather

"Yea, like Family Feud for Two...you must go against your partner and see who can agree on the most popular things..."

Aunt Kate

"Sorry to get real here, but I'm going to have to make arrangements for Trish, I've got a ton of things to do...and I still don't know if I can get out of work yet...should be okay...but your going to be kind of to yourself...think you'll be okay?"

Heather

"Kate...I'm really having trouble with all this, when this all settles in and stuff, I don't know how I'm  going to do?"

Aunt Kate

"Like disoriented, what are you talking about?"

Heather

"Yea, why does this stuff have to happen, it doesn't even seem real..."

Aunt Kate

"Yea, when I lost my Charles to that auto accident...it took me a long time to find the will to just stop asking why...it just is what it is, it just happened...no excuse needed...even then, I was in denial for a long time!"

Heather

"I remember all that, you were a real mess...felt so sorry for you, but you toughed it out!"

Aunt Kate

"At first I even got to the point where I just wanted to commit suicide, but then between that and the bottle which just popped up in my life...I finally just had to accept those things that I cannot change myself...so there!"

Heather

"So, your technically Mom now...huh?"

Aunt Kate

"Well, for the rest of this year...at least until you turn 18...other than that, your free to do whatever you want?"

Heather

"Why do I have this feeling that everything's just going to crap?"

Aunt Kate

"Because it is...one major blow with this...whatever happened to Trish could happen to you...or even me....you need to stay aware of things, we're not out of the woods yet!"

Heather

"That just sucks, how can you sleep with all this crap on your mind?"

Aunt Kate

"Real easy...look, I have a secured upstairs apartment...and best of all, I have a gun, too!"

Heather

"Now that's what I'm talking about..."

HEATHER'S FURY (2)

No Room For Tomorrow

(Next Morning)

Heather driving into school, enters parking lot where close friends have already gathered.
As she gets out of car she is instantly greeted.

Marcia Cody (Heather's Best Friend)

"Hey, what's up girl...how's the job hunt going?"

Heather

"Going to try the on-line stuff, see if I can get lucky with the internet, maybe personal cover letters, try the Craig's List...anything but cold calling..."

Marcia

"You could always just stick your leg out...on a picture of course...always get great response when I show 'em a little something!"

Ted (Best guy friend)

"Yea, great response from all the little horned up perverts, don't listen to her listen, you shouldn't have any problems...just make sure your straight up with them, don't be anything that your not!"

Jamie (Infatuated football player)

"Yea, if you need anyone to give you a reference...I mean a good reference, let me know!"

Heather

"Thanks Jamie...with all this help, now all I need is a miracle?"

Jamie

"Oh, I'd Love to be your miracle...just ask!"

Ted turning head to Heather

"Guy gives me the creeps..."

Heather

"Whatever, hope it's a good day for everyone...hey, who's gonna do the prep rally today...seems like only half the squad has been showing up...we're suppose to be dressing out today!"

Marcia

"More eyes on us girl...think we have too many anyway...don't want to overwhelm the poor guys with a massive sea of bodies anyway..."

Heather

Hey guys, wait till we show you our new stuff (whispering to Heather), they get all excited, their blood goes somewhere else...I think, and they start acting goofy and passing out!"

Ted

"Hey, while I'm here, I want to get some pictures for the paper, those new outfits are hot stuff man!"

Heather

"That's what this is all about boys...we wear them for you...I'm sure you all appreciate amazing displays of perfection, hmm?"

Jamie

"How about a little affection to go along with that...I'm game if you are?"

Heather

"Thanks Jamie, if I need the Troll committee I'll be thinking of you!"

Jamie

"I don't think I know what a Troll is but, I can be one if it makes you happy?"

Heather

"And a happy little Troll you would make too!"

(Everybody Laughing)

Marcia

"Heather I came up with a new one tonight, it even has a girl on the human tower falling away to the catchers in the back!"

Heather

"Wonder what wondrous little minx we could get to perform that top...up there in the nosebleed section?

Marcia

"That's funny you should mention that, we were thinking of voting you in to grow some big ones and show us how to fly...come on Heather...it'll be fun?"

Heather

"I'm presuming wings, not ball's of the ape man..no, no I'm not interested in having all you idiots toss me into the clouds!"

Marcia

"Just kidding...don't worry, we'll find someone who likes to fly!"

Heather

"Why don't you ask Joy...bitch is made of feathers...she's already part bird anyway..."

Home room buzzer goes off, everyone scatters to their assigned rooms.

Marcia

"See you later..."

Heather

"You too!"

(Scene Switch)

Int: Heather's House-9 a.m.

Mister Bob Patrick (ex Father and Husband) has an idea for generating some money and get his financial picture out of default.
He's been drinking heavily earlier that morning, but for him, that's every morning.
Despite his restraining order, he comes into the house unannounced, he enters using key.
Trish Patrick (Mom, ex-wife) is still laying on the couch planning day.

Bob

"Well, good to see the damn key still works!"

Trish startled

"And...what in the hell are you doing back here?"

Bob

"I dunno...I remember you picking out this place, I remember it like it was just the other day, funny how you remember things, like when they happened they didn't seem very important...but now oh heavens, the blade sings the sad song, the final cut, how bewildered it all becomes...has it become sad for you Trish?"

Trish

"What's going to be sad is when I have the Police escort your sorry ass out to the patrol car...is that what you were referring to?"

Bob

"Oh, I remember all the listings...had so many we couldn't find where it started and where it ended...and how did we finally pick this place...do you remember that remarkable moment of carnal selection...do you?"

Trish

"A Love stain on page two, Fall issue, Century 21 brochure...how could I forget?"

Bob

"It seemed to excite you when you realized it was my stain that dropped onto that very page, right?"

Trish

"I wouldn't say excited, more of like "scared out of my mind" when you kept insisting that the drop was Angelic and that it was a spritual calling...the way you kept harping Home...rocks...I just about got up and left, but we were still staying at the Daisy and the maid knocked on the door wanting to know if we needed any towels..."

Bob

"And I believe we did, saved that brochure, did the paperwork, signing all those piles of papers and documents, and the next thing I remember was carrying you through the doorway...I seem to remember that, true?"

Trish

"I seem to remember paying cash for the house from an illegal withdraw from your business partner, and you refiling the back door open cause you couldn't wait for the Realtor to bring over the keys, oh no...you had to drag me in the house and screw every orifice in my body till I was so sore I had to call a Chiropractor over to loosen up a pinched nerve...ah, you remember that now...true?"

Bob laughing

"Yea, I do remember that Chiropractor...she was a cutey, but anyway I have..."

Trish

"You have nothing Bob...because you decided to start drifting out on me with that bottle in one hand and your Honey wrapped around your waist, hanging out with all the losers who live around the motels, just hanging on to that room key...I remember seeing that one on the bathroom floor many times...oh lucky 72, the one way in the back, nice and hidden just like you liked it, and for all I know still do...boy you certainly showed me how simple life can be...had it all figured out...huh?"

Bob

"Yea, I never said I was complicated...I was always able to figure myself out...but that was when you stopped putting out freely...I had to ask, you made me beg Trish, you stopped doing your Wifely duties and taking care of the most important person in your life...the man who bought you this house...what thanks do I get...a stupid Police warning, spat on by creditors, and now Jan has left me?"

Trish

Jan...let me guess...girl of the week, your morning bitch...perhaps you have them on schedules now...you know, your not even good to your mistresses either...it's pretty bad mister when the whores have you black listed...pretty bad , pretty sad...but, what "a r e" you gonna do...huh?"

Bob

"Oh, yea it seems amusing and interesting now, taking your your little pot-shots...sure, go on head...must have been pretty easy to tell the Judge to send me packing, hell of a surprise to me, but heh...who cares about Bob anyway, could have been any number of things that brought this on Trish...infidelity...things happen, I'm a guy...sometimes I'm not always doing the right things, I know this..."

Trish

"Well, one thing for sure...you sure like to babble when you drink, I will give you credit for having the ability to amuse yourself with absolutely no outside assistance...rare quality about you Bob, your a stinking loner, trapped inside a boy...that validates your inability to be responsible...even Heather had you figured out...just couldn't keep your brain where it belongs huh?"

Bob (bobbling his head)

"My brain is fine, everything is working!"

Trish

"I was talking about the other brain...the one you keep in your pants...must be connected cause it seem's to be responsible for all your thinking and everything you end up doing, right?"

Bob

"Well, you seem to have it all figured out, when someone's in, when some one gets put out, where it's been, and where it's going...you almost take all the fun out of being alive...with your coordinated plan of events, everything neatly structured to your expectation...oh screw the rest of us, hanging out with you is about as much fun as celebrating a funeral!"

Trish

"Well, at least we know what died, so we can be remorseful for something...it's easier just knowing the truth anyway...I'm just grateful for the simple pleasures..."

Bob

"And what do you consider the simple pleasures?"

Trish

"Knowing that Heather is okay, being able to finally sleep at night...I figure, your a big boy now...I'm sure you can take of yourself...and by the way...whatever got you testing the key on the door anyway...must have been something pretty important?"

Bob

"Yea, finally got a nice offer on the house, thought you might be interested in swinging a deal?"

Trish

"What do you mean an offer on the house, the house isn't even on the market, and if it was...I never gave permission to do so!"

Bob

"I never listed it in a local market, it's on the international sites..."

Trish

"Oh, isn't the sneaky, heck, don't even bother to ask me how I feel about it, guess my two cents doesn't matter anyways...let me save you some time...the answer is N O...clear enough?

Bob

"Think it out Honey, we could both use the cash?"

Trish

"Don't Honey me you weasle, where are Heather and me suppose to live...don't think you can just run in here and railroad me with one of your pie in the sky fantasies, it's just not going to happen Mister!"

Bob

"Well, I hope you change your mind soon, cause the buyer is planning to start moving in on Monday..."

Trish

"Oh, isn't that special...it's not a deal of choice...it's a done deal...glad you took a moment to check in with the news...how nice of you...you are the man!"

Bob

"Well, the deal works out to about 200 grand a piece...you can do a lot with that kind of money!"

Trish

"Look, I don't want this, I won't allow this, and all in all, your way out of line mister!"

Bob

"Well the talk is through...your probably right with not asking first...but I wouldn't of listened to you then as I'm not now...plan on packing up, cause this deal is done...anyway as the ink dries, make your plans cause..."

Trish suddenly jumps up, grabs Bob and they start struggling.
They both fall to floor and Bob reaches out to break his fall, but he accidentally pushes back Trish's head, breaking her neck as the hit the floor.

He stops wrestling with her as he realizes that she is suddenly lifeless, and failing to respond.

Bob

"Trish Honey, come on...what's wrong...come on wake up please!"

Finally he feels her arm, seeing that there's not a pulse, he panics, and exits the house, leaving the door ajar, he jumps in his car and burns rubber leaving the driveway.
