HEATHER'S FURY (3)

Closing In

(Three Hours Later)

Heather comes back from school, finding her Mother laying in the hallway.

Heather

"Mom, Mom...wake up, come on what's wrong with you?"

Seeing the paleness on her cold and clammy skin, she screams, runs to the telephone calling 911

Heather walking over to where her Mom is laying, crying to her

"Who did this to you Mom, please talk to me, oh God no!

(1 Hour Later)

Ambulance leaving, Investigator Daniel Morgan approaches Heather

 Investigator Morgan

"So sorry about your loss, but I'm going to need you to answer some questions...you feeling up to it?"

Heather

"I guess so...I dunno?"

Morgan

"So, when you came home, did you notice anything unusual, out of place?"

Heather

"The door was open and unlocked, otherwise everything seemed to be okay...until I saw her, and then (breaking out)...oh my G O D what happened?"

Morgan getting call on cell phone
Getting off, he confronts Heather again.

"Mam, I hate to ask you this, but would you mind coming down to the station...it would be a better atmosphere, and the crime lab can finish their investigation?"

Heather

"For what...she's dead, are we all gonna sit in a big circle and try to bring her back to life...is that it...some giant Ouigi board where she'll talk about her last moments, what kind of mood she was in, what she would have made for dinner...you know, I really don't have anything to offer at this moment...if that's all right with you?"

Morgan

"That's not really the point, Detective Martin and Detective Barns will be investigating your case...this means that they are requesting your presence for a formal briefing.

Heather

"You mean...if I don't want to come, your going to drag me away in handcuffs, kicking and screaming?"

Morgan

"We'll unfortunately, we have only you to consider as conspirator in this action, at this point...your simple obligation is to be helpful in helping your Mother's situation or explain the situation at hand...it's your choice?"

Heather

"My Mother is dead, expired, off to another adventure far away...I Loved my Mother very much...why would you think that I would have anything to do with this...how could you?"

Morgan

"Well, all we have is that when you came in, your Mother was deceased...that's it!"

Heather

"Where's my Dad, have you tried to contact him?"

Morgan

"What kind of relationship did you have with your Father?"

Heather

"He just broke up with Mom, he's not allowed over here, why don't you call him up and see what's going on...very entertaining waste of human excrement...a complete loser!

Morgan

"Well, we were trying to locate him, but we've had no luck finding his vehicle or him...do you have any idea where he might be...did you and your Father, did you talk a lot?"

Heather

No, hell no...I haven't spoke to him in a while...he's never around, always working on sales and stuff...travels a lot...(starts crying) why would anybody take Mom from me!"

Morgan

"I know this is painful Miss Patrick, but I'm going to need you to come down to the station with me...please...your technically in violation if you don't, understand?"

(Scene Switch)

Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Division

Bringing Heather into office with no handcuffs on, she is seated and introduced to Detective Pam Martin and Detective Peter Barns

Heather throwing tantrum

"Look, you guys drag me in here...I'll tell you the same think I've been telling Morgan the Freak show here, I came home, there she was dead...don't have any clue why, there it is...okay?"

Detective Pam Martin

"Mam, Miss Patrick, I'm Detective Pam Martin, now you need to listen, we are trying to establish a series of events leading up to the incident, some of it may not make any sense right now, but as we get closer into our discovery, everything relevant becomes critical...the least little details could make or break the outcome of this case, understand?"

Heather

"Just because I was there, doesn't make me a suspect...does it?"

Detective Peter Barns

"Hello Miss Patrick, I'm Detective Peter Barns and yes...unfortunately we deal with situations like this all the time, we have to be sure that your mentally confidant to give your side to things, and the more helpful you can be, the easier this will be for everyone...does that sound plausible Miss Patrick?"

Heather huffing

"You guys are so cold, couldn't find anyone else to pick on, let's all just save some time, gang up and hang Heather...that's the answer...look you guy's are just wasting your time, I'm telling you that right now!"

Detective Pam Martin

"And who do you suggest might have a motive as big as yours...as strong...It's not that we don't have compassion, it's just that we work with the obvious, we do it all the time, and yes...we've seen things like this before, so save yourself and try to be helpful if you can!"

Heather

"Find someone else to pick on other than me, I'm getting depressed..."

Detective Barns (coming into room)

"I couldn't find any external points of break-in, didn't appear to be any unusual prints other than some fresh skid marks, but it's still too early for conclusions...the D.A. has already sent down a hold request on Miss Patrick till we gather all the data..."

Martin

"Really...okay, I've already did the preliminaries if your ready to process...seems a little preemptive, but she's all yours if your ready?"

Barns

"We're in the process of locating her next of kin...we are readied to transfer parental rights, temporary custody anyway if she accepts, like to get all this set up and ready to go if she accepts the offer...we can't complete the discovery without some course of action...what have you got Pam?"

"Heather yelling (face in her lap)

"Can't believe you guys are just sitting here, just taking turns, trying to ruin me, waiting...hoping that I have a mental breakdown...you know I watch TV, I've seen these scenarios...I know that you already have plans to have me committed here...put me away In Bellevue or Attica somewhere...somewhere where I can rot the rest of my life away...right...well I'm on to both of you'all, I see through all your holes!"

Barns

"Well Miss Patrick, based on real cases, you should know, that you'd do well just to come clean and tell us what's really going on...it would save everybody a lot of time, or do you even believe what really happened, was this some precursor, a foresight to an event that finally played itself out?"

Heather

"Never considered anything, cause I never intended to do anything...just never did nothing...your trying to make me into a culprit, the little evil bad girl, this whole issue is to try to convince the jury that deep down I 'm this dirty little witch...all planned out and executed...huh?"

Barns and Martin both shaking their heads.

Martin

"Well, Miss Patrick, unfortunately until we have some more information, I'm afraid we're going to have to put a hold on you till...Peter, who has her bond hearing?"

Barns

"Looks like we just located Patrick's Aunt...she does outside sales or something, she's coming in, just confirmed!"

Heather (hands over face)

"Just lie down Heather please...that's what your all saying...just lie down on my tummy while you take turns sticking your nasty things into my tailbone...just go on head, turn me into your personal slut...right...your not fooling anyone?"

Martin

"Miss Patrick...Heather, honey it's not necessary to be prude, crude, or whatever else your thinking...look, if we had something, someone else to work into this case...it's early so settle down and think before your mind starts wandering all over the place...you are only becoming your worst enemy...we actually are trying to help...we're doing whats best for you and the memory of your Mother, okay?"

Heather crying

"I don't know where to go with, I just came home and she was dead, can't tell how, can't tell why, just so messed up...the only one I could think of that might have done this was Daddy...but he couldn't have...he has a restraining order!"

Martin flagging Barns

"Check those tire tracks, see if we get anything on what the old man is driving, too!"

Barns

"Get anything, we don't even have a location on this guy...some expired summary but I don't think it's valid...he's apparently a salesman, wholesale bedding...he travels a lot, too...was last in possession of a Gray Mustang GT, Florida tags...extended lease package..."

Martin

"Possession?"

Marks

"Yea, according to his print out, he's behind on his payments, the lease company has already called it in for default!"

Martin

"So I guess we can assume he's not doing too well?"

Marks

"Well...if he is having financial trouble, behind on his alimony, child support, who knows...that's our tag...let's get him in here...after Pam briefs this Aunt, let's go on head and release Heather into her custody...and just wait for Mister Patrick to show his face...gotta be around here somewhere...I can just feel it in my bones...oh yea!"

Martin laughing

"You're starting to show signs that you've been doing this too long...your assumptions start becoming prophecy...time for a vacation...in any case I've got this other case on Espinoza with the missing boyfriend and the missing personality..."

Marks

Let me guess...pretty explanatory huh?"

Martin

Meaning what?"

Marks

"The moment she lost her boyfriend...there went the personality!"

Both laughing

Lakeland Police Department-Waiting area-Front Lobby

Heather waits in lobby as her Aunt Kate finally signs all the paperwork and comes out to greet her, they embrace.

Heather

"Aunt Kate, oh God...I'm so sorry about Mom!"

Aunt Kate

"I know dear, she was my best friend, too!"

Going out to car in each other's arms.

Heather

"Those butt holes thought I did it, they wouldn't stop...wouldn't let me eat, drink, pee...thought I was losing my mind in there...like any moment I was just gonna EXPLODE!"

Aunt Kate

"Well, from what I'm sensing...your Father is taking the rap, cause nobody has seen him, and that ding bat honey he's been hanging around actually called me this morning wanting to know if I had seen him, you believe that crap...how in the hell did she get my number?"

Heather (holding nose)

"Probably one of them girls that always carries rubbers in their pocket...I see them at school all the time, doing little nasty stuff for spare change...all kind of sick ass stuff!"

Aunt Kate laughing

""Well, as we get older, we then turn into Gold Diggers...and trust me, we want more than just spare change!"

Heather

"So, they still carry rubbers, right?"

Aunt Kate

"At that point, condoms are probably little more than an after thought, girls who are into that kind of action are looking for an unplanned pregnancy...good as real estate..."

Heather

"Really, for real, that is so twisted...like a baby...a baby is not like a car, like here's your title, thank you very much, or like a dog you pick up at the kennel...where's your papers...do we need to spay or neuter...like they need to develop some mandatory test screening to qualify anybody bonking or thinking about getting hitched...see if they got any brains going on!"

Aunt Kate

"Like they do on game shows?"

Heather

"Yea, like Family Feud for Two...you must go against your partner and see who can agree on the most popular things..."

Aunt Kate

"Sorry to get real here, but I'm going to have to make arrangements for Trish, I've got a ton of things to do...and I still don't know if I can get out of work yet...should be okay...but your going to be kind of to yourself...think you'll be okay?"

Heather

"Kate...I'm really having trouble with all this, when this all settles in and stuff, I don't know how I'm  going to do?"

Aunt Kate

"Like disoriented, what are you talking about?"

Heather

"Yea, why does this stuff have to happen, it doesn't even seem real..."

Aunt Kate

"Yea, when I lost my Charles to that auto accident...it took me a long time to find the will to just stop asking why...it just is what it is, it just happened...no excuse needed...even then, I was in denial for a long time!"

Heather

"I remember all that, you were a real mess...felt so sorry for you, but you toughed it out!"

Aunt Kate

"At first I even got to the point where I just wanted to commit suicide, but then between that and the bottle which just popped up in my life...I finally just had to accept those things that I cannot change myself...so there!"

Heather

"So, your technically Mom now...huh?"

Aunt Kate

"Well, for the rest of this year...at least until you turn 18...other than that, your free to do whatever you want?"

Heather

"Why do I have this feeling that everything's just going to crap?"

Aunt Kate

"Because it is...one major blow with this...whatever happened to Trish could happen to you...or even me....you need to stay aware of things, we're not out of the woods yet!"

Heather

"That just sucks, how can you sleep with all this crap on your mind?"

Aunt Kate

"Real easy...look, I have a secured upstairs apartment...and best of all, I have a gun, too!"

Heather

"Now that's what I'm talking about..."

HEATHER'S FURY (2)

No Room For Tomorrow

(Next Morning)

Heather driving into school, enters parking lot where close friends have already gathered.
As she gets out of car she is instantly greeted.

Marcia Cody (Heather's Best Friend)

"Hey, what's up girl...how's the job hunt going?"

Heather

"Going to try the on-line stuff, see if I can get lucky with the internet, maybe personal cover letters, try the Craig's List...anything but cold calling..."

Marcia

"You could always just stick your leg out...on a picture of course...always get great response when I show 'em a little something!"

Ted (Best guy friend)

"Yea, great response from all the little horned up perverts, don't listen to her listen, you shouldn't have any problems...just make sure your straight up with them, don't be anything that your not!"

Jamie (Infatuated football player)

"Yea, if you need anyone to give you a reference...I mean a good reference, let me know!"

Heather

"Thanks Jamie...with all this help, now all I need is a miracle?"

Jamie

"Oh, I'd Love to be your miracle...just ask!"

Ted turning head to Heather

"Guy gives me the creeps..."

Heather

"Whatever, hope it's a good day for everyone...hey, who's gonna do the prep rally today...seems like only half the squad has been showing up...we're suppose to be dressing out today!"

Marcia

"More eyes on us girl...think we have too many anyway...don't want to overwhelm the poor guys with a massive sea of bodies anyway..."

Heather

Hey guys, wait till we show you our new stuff (whispering to Heather), they get all excited, their blood goes somewhere else...I think, and they start acting goofy and passing out!"

Ted

"Hey, while I'm here, I want to get some pictures for the paper, those new outfits are hot stuff man!"

Heather

"That's what this is all about boys...we wear them for you...I'm sure you all appreciate amazing displays of perfection, hmm?"

Jamie

"How about a little affection to go along with that...I'm game if you are?"

Heather

"Thanks Jamie, if I need the Troll committee I'll be thinking of you!"

Jamie

"I don't think I know what a Troll is but, I can be one if it makes you happy?"

Heather

"And a happy little Troll you would make too!"

(Everybody Laughing)

Marcia

"Heather I came up with a new one tonight, it even has a girl on the human tower falling away to the catchers in the back!"

Heather

"Wonder what wondrous little minx we could get to perform that top...up there in the nosebleed section?

Marcia

"That's funny you should mention that, we were thinking of voting you in to grow some big ones and show us how to fly...come on Heather...it'll be fun?"

Heather

"I'm presuming wings, not ball's of the ape man..no, no I'm not interested in having all you idiots toss me into the clouds!"

Marcia

"Just kidding...don't worry, we'll find someone who likes to fly!"

Heather

"Why don't you ask Joy...bitch is made of feathers...she's already part bird anyway..."

Home room buzzer goes off, everyone scatters to their assigned rooms.

Marcia

"See you later..."

Heather

"You too!"

(Scene Switch)

Int: Heather's House-9 a.m.

Mister Bob Patrick (ex Father and Husband) has an idea for generating some money and get his financial picture out of default.
He's been drinking heavily earlier that morning, but for him, that's every morning.
Despite his restraining order, he comes into the house unannounced, he enters using key.
Trish Patrick (Mom, ex-wife) is still laying on the couch planning day.

Bob

"Well, good to see the damn key still works!"

Trish startled

"And...what in the hell are you doing back here?"

Bob

"I dunno...I remember you picking out this place, I remember it like it was just the other day, funny how you remember things, like when they happened they didn't seem very important...but now oh heavens, the blade sings the sad song, the final cut, how bewildered it all becomes...has it become sad for you Trish?"

Trish

"What's going to be sad is when I have the Police escort your sorry ass out to the patrol car...is that what you were referring to?"

Bob

"Oh, I remember all the listings...had so many we couldn't find where it started and where it ended...and how did we finally pick this place...do you remember that remarkable moment of carnal selection...do you?"

Trish

"A Love stain on page two, Fall issue, Century 21 brochure...how could I forget?"

Bob

"It seemed to excite you when you realized it was my stain that dropped onto that very page, right?"

Trish

"I wouldn't say excited, more of like "scared out of my mind" when you kept insisting that the drop was Angelic and that it was a spritual calling...the way you kept harping Home...rocks...I just about got up and left, but we were still staying at the Daisy and the maid knocked on the door wanting to know if we needed any towels..."

Bob

"And I believe we did, saved that brochure, did the paperwork, signing all those piles of papers and documents, and the next thing I remember was carrying you through the doorway...I seem to remember that, true?"

Trish

"I seem to remember paying cash for the house from an illegal withdraw from your business partner, and you refiling the back door open cause you couldn't wait for the Realtor to bring over the keys, oh no...you had to drag me in the house and screw every orifice in my body till I was so sore I had to call a Chiropractor over to loosen up a pinched nerve...ah, you remember that now...true?"

Bob laughing

"Yea, I do remember that Chiropractor...she was a cutey, but anyway I have..."

Trish

"You have nothing Bob...because you decided to start drifting out on me with that bottle in one hand and your Honey wrapped around your waist, hanging out with all the losers who live around the motels, just hanging on to that room key...I remember seeing that one on the bathroom floor many times...oh lucky 72, the one way in the back, nice and hidden just like you liked it, and for all I know still do...boy you certainly showed me how simple life can be...had it all figured out...huh?"

Bob

"Yea, I never said I was complicated...I was always able to figure myself out...but that was when you stopped putting out freely...I had to ask, you made me beg Trish, you stopped doing your Wifely duties and taking care of the most important person in your life...the man who bought you this house...what thanks do I get...a stupid Police warning, spat on by creditors, and now Jan has left me?"

Trish

Jan...let me guess...girl of the week, your morning bitch...perhaps you have them on schedules now...you know, your not even good to your mistresses either...it's pretty bad mister when the whores have you black listed...pretty bad , pretty sad...but, what "a r e" you gonna do...huh?"

Bob

"Oh, yea it seems amusing and interesting now, taking your your little pot-shots...sure, go on head...must have been pretty easy to tell the Judge to send me packing, hell of a surprise to me, but heh...who cares about Bob anyway, could have been any number of things that brought this on Trish...infidelity...things happen, I'm a guy...sometimes I'm not always doing the right things, I know this..."

Trish

"Well, one thing for sure...you sure like to babble when you drink, I will give you credit for having the ability to amuse yourself with absolutely no outside assistance...rare quality about you Bob, your a stinking loner, trapped inside a boy...that validates your inability to be responsible...even Heather had you figured out...just couldn't keep your brain where it belongs huh?"

Bob (bobbling his head)

"My brain is fine, everything is working!"

Trish

"I was talking about the other brain...the one you keep in your pants...must be connected cause it seem's to be responsible for all your thinking and everything you end up doing, right?"

Bob

"Well, you seem to have it all figured out, when someone's in, when some one gets put out, where it's been, and where it's going...you almost take all the fun out of being alive...with your coordinated plan of events, everything neatly structured to your expectation...oh screw the rest of us, hanging out with you is about as much fun as celebrating a funeral!"

Trish

"Well, at least we know what died, so we can be remorseful for something...it's easier just knowing the truth anyway...I'm just grateful for the simple pleasures..."

Bob

"And what do you consider the simple pleasures?"

Trish

"Knowing that Heather is okay, being able to finally sleep at night...I figure, your a big boy now...I'm sure you can take of yourself...and by the way...whatever got you testing the key on the door anyway...must have been something pretty important?"

Bob

"Yea, finally got a nice offer on the house, thought you might be interested in swinging a deal?"

Trish

"What do you mean an offer on the house, the house isn't even on the market, and if it was...I never gave permission to do so!"

Bob

"I never listed it in a local market, it's on the international sites..."

Trish

"Oh, isn't the sneaky, heck, don't even bother to ask me how I feel about it, guess my two cents doesn't matter anyways...let me save you some time...the answer is N O...clear enough?

Bob

"Think it out Honey, we could both use the cash?"

Trish

"Don't Honey me you weasle, where are Heather and me suppose to live...don't think you can just run in here and railroad me with one of your pie in the sky fantasies, it's just not going to happen Mister!"

Bob

"Well, I hope you change your mind soon, cause the buyer is planning to start moving in on Monday..."

Trish

"Oh, isn't that special...it's not a deal of choice...it's a done deal...glad you took a moment to check in with the news...how nice of you...you are the man!"

Bob

"Well, the deal works out to about 200 grand a piece...you can do a lot with that kind of money!"

Trish

"Look, I don't want this, I won't allow this, and all in all, your way out of line mister!"

Bob

"Well the talk is through...your probably right with not asking first...but I wouldn't of listened to you then as I'm not now...plan on packing up, cause this deal is done...anyway as the ink dries, make your plans cause..."

Trish suddenly jumps up, grabs Bob and they start struggling.
They both fall to floor and Bob reaches out to break his fall, but he accidentally pushes back Trish's head, breaking her neck as the hit the floor.

He stops wrestling with her as he realizes that she is suddenly lifeless, and failing to respond.

Bob

"Trish Honey, come on...what's wrong...come on wake up please!"

Finally he feels her arm, seeing that there's not a pulse, he panics, and exits the house, leaving the door ajar, he jumps in his car and burns rubber leaving the driveway.

Heather's Fury (1) Simpler Times

 HEATHER'S FURY (1)

Simpler Times

fade in:

Int: Heather's house-living room-6 p.m.

Heather and her Mom (Trish) are talking while Mom makes dinner, Heather is sprawled out on the couch wearing shorts and a halter top reading the want ads out of the newspaper.

Heather

The paper is crazy, got things in here I know that I could do, but they all want you to be experienced like from the last century...10 years doing one thing...I don't even know about this getting old stuff..."

Mom

"Well Hon, it's not your choice to age, we all do it...you know, you could try to find an internship, I mean people start somewhere...even if it means starting over from something else...everybody does it...try to find someone willing to train...you that is!"

Heather

"What's that suppose to mean...am I really that little brat Dad always said I was?"

Mom laughing

"Well...let's put it this way...you never grew out of it...it just matured a bit!"

Heather

"Can't do nothing about that...it's Heather with an edge...anyway, I could try to talk to Miss Gibbons in counseling at school...she's got all kind of connections?"

Mom

"Couldn't hurt, just keep your eyes open Hon, you've got plenty of time!"

Heather

"No I don't either...only 3 months till the prom...and I said I want that blue dress over at Patsy's...done, not if?"

Mom

"That one you were looking at cost way too much money...heavens child...that's almost 200 dollars for something you probably only wear once...can't you find anything else?"

Heather

"Don't forget my shoes, that's another 75 dollars...assuming I've even got a date!"

Mom

"You'll probably be walking around barefooted half way through the night...I know how those heels kill your feet when you've been dancing...I know I did!"

Heather

"Well, I'm going to be responsible and pay for my stuff, I'm not asking you or...well Dad for anything...don't worry about it!"

Mom

"Okay Dear, ah...supper's almost ready, would you like some cheese on your meatballs and stuff?"

Heather

"Yea, it sure smells good Mom...hope I can learn to cook like you one day?"

Mom

"I thank you for the complement, but I hardly think that meatballs and spaghetti corresponds to being a great cook...heavens the meatballs I just made with a little ground meat, a little onion, peppers, some seasonings, a little bread crumb, an egg...not rocket science here!"

Heather

"Mom, you grow your own Basil, your like an herbal health nut in comparison to me...if I can boil water without it all drying up I feel lucky...I'm on a roll if I actually have something I can make with it!"

Both sitting down at the table and start eating.

Mom

"Take some classes, maybe Home-EC, learn how to bake brownies, pizzas, I remember taking those classes in high school...we had a good time!"

Heather

"At least I'd learn how to survive without having to eat out, or hunt around for somebody to invite me over...I think they're starting to notice..."

Mom

"This could be a good opportunity to get something at a restaurant, you know...find a mentor, someone who has the time and is willing to show you the ropes...I think Clara's over at the Lakeland is looking for help...serving, food prep, just help out where needed...good way to learn!"

Heather

"They've got jobs for Burger King, McDonald's, Burger Doodle...whatever, I don't know if I could handle all those little snot eating rats that come through there on their skateboards?"

Mom

"I meant a restaurant, where real cooks prepare real meals, pretty much from scratch...don't get your head all caught up in the fast food burger wars...it's all in boxes...your just a human opener and heat distributor...kind of like that old joke, "You want fries with that?"...what your looking for is someone who can make their own pasta, their own stews, stuff the sausage from scratch...talk about giving you a little self-confidence...I think you'd really enjoy the experience!"

Heather

"Alright, alright...I'll check into it...get me over that fear of what to do when the water boils anyway!"

Mom

"Yea, now that your Father has left the scene, if he doesn't ruin himself first, we may be looking for a new place to stay!"

Heather

"I thought the judge ordered alimony and stuff?"

Mom

"That doesn't mean Jack honey, the Judge can mandate...but he's limited on a garnishment program when your running your own business...it's hit or miss making a collection, and it's not consistent, so instead of pulling my hair out, I'm going back to work!"

Heather

"Darn...just like that, didn't even see any of this coming, and boom...suddenly everybody is hanging, what got into Dad anyway...oh wait...he's a guy, is that it?"

Mom laughing

"Yea, those pesky guy's, can't live with them, can't live without them...but the truth of the matter is that we choose our own forms of poison in life, some...in small quantities are therapeutic, and when you over do things it all just becomes too toxic!"

Heather

"So, falling in Love is like a poison, never heard that before?"

Mom

"Well, it's an analogy based on taking one from their focus, their purpose...all those crazy Psych classes left me with some pretty screwed up viewpoints, but hey...I have a nice daughter to thank for all my misgivings, I'll survive this..."

Heather

"So, you start off thinking...the perfect family..and then what...am I missing something?"

Mom

"It can be a struggle if you pick the wrong mate, and I would imagine if you work together, give of yourself from both sides without expectation, then it flows into a beautiful reward of the person your going to grow old with, the one...now you've got me started...you always do that Heather...stop it!"

Heather motor-boarding lips

"I'm sorry Mom, but I just asked a simple question and your not connecting...you just start rambling about what could of been...it's like listening to someone read an instruction manual on how to put something together, then you just throw it away and decide "screw this way", I'll just do it myself...I mean, I kinda figured you did something wrong, too...yea right?"

Mom

"Yea, no, hard to say...but your Father found his money, then found a honey, and decided she was more fun than me...was I the laxer here...just not paying attention...would have anything I did make any difference...who knows...all I do know is that it all just came together and happened?"

Heather

"So, in general...it's seems if your not on your game, guys will do this in general...right?"

Mom

"Not all, just the ones who have it all and start getting guilty about how they got it...your big difference between self-made and winning some business lotto...people have it, but feel undeserved of what it means, what it brings...everybody reacts differently, that's all I'm saying...it's like a new toy...somebody who just appreciates the exterior of somebody new..."

Heather

"So they find it...this something new...probably doesn't last, huh?"

Mom

"Toys get broken, like everything in life...once the magic stops, it gets discarded...kind of like life itself when you think about it, but sometimes it does work out...if it was all that simple girl, I swear, you find your own answers usually after it's too late to do anything about it!"

Heather

"So, you think he's gonna come crawling back...eventually?"

Mom laughing

"It's a little late now, I have a restraining order against him paying any visits...I mean he can call and meet me, but no dropping in if that's what he's thinking."

Heather

"So, what happens if he doesn't restrain?"

Mom

"He gets arrested and then everything really does get complicated...let's not have that happen!"

Heather

"Well, hopefully he behaves himself?"

Mom

"We'll wait and see, we're just getting started with all this!"

Heather giving her a hug

"Hey thanks for a super dinner, and ah...thanks for screwing your life up just long enough to have me around, that means a lot...even if you just winged it!"

Mom

"Winged it, what's that suppose to mean?"

Heather

"Did you forget already...you threw away the instruction manual and just did it yourself...you did a pretty good job, too...night Mom!"

Mom

"Well thank you Honey, I guess I did...night Dear..."
