HEATHER'S FURY (6)
The Party's Over
Lakeland Police Department-Homicide Detail-9 a.m.
Detective Pam Martin has decided that they have enough of a case to bring to the District Attorney for arrest warrants to be issued. Trish Townsend with the D.A.'s office has just approved the actions requested.
Detective Martin
"I've looked at all this stuff on the Patrick's case...it's time to bring everybody in and see who crows the best, the most, and the loudest!"
Detective Peter Barns
So, you let them stew enough in their own crap long enough huh?"
Martin
"Yea, Trish just sent down the subpoenas, all signed, sealed, and delivered...as long as we have the blessings of the D.A., the sooner we can close this thing and move on to newer waters!"
Barns
"You know, I'll have to hand it to you...the City Attorney was right?"
Martin
"You mean Kathy, yea...she's such a sweetheart, budgeted a lot of my youth programs without so much having do the usual third degree strip tease with the city council...I swear, they just don't get progress...sitting there just writing checks for their own districts...it's amazing anything gets done!"
Barns
"This should be pretty straight forward from here, we have three juveniles, maybe cut a deal?"
Martin
"That's assuming we can corral them into the barn without a bunch of mayhem...these kids these days get all emotional when they realize it's not a video game you can just turn off...but then, if they want to go kicking and screaming...suit themselves...probably think they're not even being considered...like people who bully...don't have a clue what they're doing to someone who doesn't fit in..."
Barns
"Where does that come from...I mean the feeling no compassion thing, no remorse, and that's assuming they even remember doing the crime to start with?"
Martin
"Television, parents who spoil them with just letting them find their own feelings about morality...without someone to guide them in the wheelhouse...they get off the channel of growing up, get off course, and then the sharks get 'em...conditioning is so important, especially during puberty."
Barns
"If we had all the answers..."
Martin
"Yea, I know...I would have already had Doctor Phil's Love Child by now...he'd never let us go a week without doing an update on juveniles...where'd they go wrong!"
Barns
"We could call it Juveniles Exposed, almost like our own daily blog of tidbits!"
Martin
"For a detective with as many cases as you have back logged, you sure seem to have a lot of time for grandiose fantasies and ego boosting!"
Barns
"It keeps me away from the bottle, and to not look at women half my age..."
Martin
"Fair enough, now who should be drag in first?"

Katy's Apartment-Living Room-10 a.m.
Aunt Katy and Heather laying on couches just shooting the breeze
Heather
"You know, it's only a matter of time before these boys will have to come forth...be tested you know...I mean I know one guy who will not only test positive, but will be found guilty, too!"
Katy
"Look girl...just let the cops be cops, let them do their thing...do their job...hell it'll all come out in the wash...so to speak...ahem, would you like some more pot roast?"
Heather
"Sure, maybe a little bit on some rye, oh and that pepper mustard stuff is the bomb Aunt Kate...you do miracles with that crock pot...crock pot magician you!"
Katy
"Yea, it does kind of amaze me how I can throw all that stuff in there in the morning, and when I get home...there's all this 5 star meal waiting...but actually, that was one of your Grandmother's recipes...she originated most of what we've been eating...your Mom and me were constantly competing in the kitchen...boy, I sure miss her!"
Heather
"Well, what has happened has happened, what is done is done!"
Katy
"What do you mean by that?"
Heather
"It just did...nothing to worry about...all neatly swept under the carpet..."
Katy
"So, let me throw one out there for kicks...you did have something to do with what happened to Bob...gees Heather...I should have figured!"
Heather
"Figured what, I didn't say anything!"
Katy
"You just implicated yourself...in so many words young lady...for Christ sake, elaborate girl?"
Heather
"Well, I don't even no what your talking about, so quit putting words in my mouth..."
Katy
"I've got a better idea...just never mind, just watch what you say, no snide remarks, cause the less I know about what ever it is you apparently didn't do or have any knowledge of, is starting to stress me out...so DBIU...don't bring it up...understand?"
Heather
"Wonder what's on tv?"

Troy Abram's House (Patrick's Lawn Boy)-2p.m.
Troy trimming some shrubs in front of his house. Spots Lakeland Police car pulling up into his driveway. Officer gets out.
Officer
"Afternoon, ah looking for a Troy Abrams...would you be him?"
Troy taking deep swallow
"Yea, yea, that's him...I mean, I mean me, that's him alright...what can I help you with, sir?"
Officer
"Well sir, unfortunately I have a warrant here for your arrest concerning the murder of Bob Patricks!"
Troy
"For what...hey don't look at me...I didn't have anything to do with it!"
Officer
"Well, according to the D.A.'s office they have evidence showing yoy fingerprints all over the place...so let's keep this simple...we take a ride down to the police station, talk with the detectives and then it will be up to you as to how you wish to handle this...fair enough?"
Troy
"Is it okay to tell my Mommy where I'm going...I guess I should let her know I probably won't be home for dinner?"
Officer
"Your Mommy...oh God, well yes Troy, I think that would be an "Excellent" idea...this is after all just a booking to get you in the system...the judge will decide if there will be a bail hearing."
Troy
"Are the girls coming?"
Officer
"I can't talk about their particulars, but I would imagine so...just concern yourself about you right now, sound like a plan?"
Troy
"Can you just like, go away and pretend like you couldn't find me?"
Officer laughing
"No Troy, now would you put your hands behind your back...eh nothing sharp or poking in those pockets there huh?"
Troy
"So, be honest...this is like real trouble huh?"
Officer going through Troy's pockets
"Yes, about as bad as it get's...but the charges could change with the circumstances, like I said...it's all up to you whether you want to make this easy or difficult, all up to you...hey, why are you so wet down here boy?"
Troy
"Sorry about that, I just wet myself!"
Officer
"Well, somehow that doesn't surprise me, better let your Mommy know before we leave, get you a change of drawers, I really don't want you sitting in my car like that!"
Troy
"It's just that I got so excited and I..."
Officer
"Well you kids today, you all seem so excited when you realize that maybe hurting or causing harm has it's ramifications."
Troy
"Does this mean they'll send me to prison, like will I turn gay and all that?"
Officer
"If you play your cards right, and with that kind of attitude, you can expect just about anything to happen...I would suggest to just stay open minded on the issue!"
Troy running toward house in handcuffs
"Mommy, Mommy, I need to talk to you...are you in the kitchen...help me Mommy, help me!"
Officer shaking his head
"Kids these day...a 17 year old child, what's next?"
